Schenck Wins AICPA Public Service Award

May 20, 2008

Schenck Business Solutions has been named the recipient of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ 2007 Firm Public Service Award. Each year, the AICPA recognizes one CPA firm with this national award for its outstanding commitment to the communities it serves, including public service, volunteer work, and corporate citizenship demonstrated over a period of time.

Schenck estimates that employees have contributed well over 15,000 hours of community service in the past year. From Kiwanis to Optimists, area fundraising walks to support of Children’s Hospital, the people of Schenck Business Solutions are known as “true community volunteers.” Volunteerism is a key performance criterion for each shareholder and is strongly encouraged among all employees.

“We believe that to be an Employer of Choice, we have a responsibility to be active members of our communities,” said Bill Goodman, president of Schenck Business Solutions. “We have a tradition of encouraging all employees to make a difference for the organizations they’re passionate about. We’re very honored to be recognized on a national level by the AICPA for our commitment to supporting and strengthening our communities.”

A team from Schenck's Milwaukee office participated in the United Way Day of Caring Event by clearing hiking trails, building a bridge/boardwalk, and helping with general cleanup at Riveredge Nature Center in Newburg.

The award was presented to Schenck at the spring meeting of the AICPA’s Governing Council on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. The AICPA is the national professional association of CPAs, with more than 350,000 members, including CPAs in business and industry, public practice, government, education, student affiliates, and international associates.
